The Europ Assistance Group Management Committee (EA- GMC) is responsible for simplifying the Group corporate governance system and organization.
The Group Management Committee focuses on efforts to improve our decision-making processes and accelerate the transformation of our group to meet the challenges of the assistance and travel insurance sectors. They do this by enhancing the organization’s competitiveness, facilitating team collaboration, and consolidating our global presence. This way, we can achieve the goals laid out in the We Connect strategic plan and better place customers at the heart of everything we do.
Chief Executive Officer of Generali Care Hub
Antoine Parisi is the CEO of Generali Care Hub, the Care insurance and services arm of the Generali Group gathering Europ Assistance and GEB (Generali Employee Benefits).
Before joining Europ Assistance in 2014, Antoine Parisi served in various leadership roles within the AXA Group for over 20 years, most recently as Managing Director of the P&C business of AXA Belgium, and Chairman and CEO of AXA Assistance France.
Antoine Parisi began his professional career in 1992 within the AXA Group as an Actuary and held various positions in underwriting, pricing, and reserving. From 1997 to 2000, he held the position of Deputy to the Head of Business Support US, UK, Benelux in AXA’s corporate center.
In 2001, he was appointed CEO of AXA e-Services, a company in charge of providing e-business solutions for all AXA Group business units. In 2003, Antoine Parisi was promoted Chief Executive Officer of AXA Group Solutions, an international organization responsible for delivering shared IT solutions to AXA Group business units.
In 2009, he became a member of the Executive Committee of AXA Belgium, where he held the position of COO then Managing Director of the P&C Retail Business Unit. In November 2013, he was appointed Chairman and CEO of AXA Assistance France and Key Account Director in parallel.
Antoine holds an Executive MBA from the ESSEC business school in Paris and a Diploma in Actuarial Studies and Statistics from the University of Paris VI
CEO Northern and Eastern Europe, Asia and South Africa
Pascal Baumgarten began his professional career at the McKinsey & Company consulting firm in 1998.
After three years, he joined the Cytale company (now Bookeen), inventor of the first electronic book dubbed Cybook, as a project manager responsible for the development of professional applications.
In 2003, he returned to McKinsey, where he became partner in 2010, in charge of the Organization & HR practice in France.
In 2015 Pascal was appointed Group COO for Europ Assistance Group and went on to become the Group’s General Manager.
Pascal Baumgarten is a graduate of HEC Paris business school.
General Manager
Jean-Yves Le Berre joins Europ Assistance with over 20 years’ experience in the insurance sector. He will be responsible for the Insurance, COO and CFO functions of the Group.
Previously, Jean-Yves was Chief Executive Officer for AXA Emerging Europe based in Paris, appointed in 2016. Having started his career with AXA as a project manager in 1991, Jean-Yves rose to hold several significant roles including Deputy CEO and CFO of AXA Central and Eastern Europe from 2012-2016 and Senior Vice President – Strategy, Business Control & Procurement of AXA France in 2011-2012.
Jean-Yves Le Berre graduated from Ecole Polytechnique in 1989 and ENSAE in 1991. He is also a qualified Actuary.
Human Resources & Organization Director
Véronique’s key responsibilities are to develop people strategies across the Group and to oversee the HR and Internal Communication activities.
Véronique graduated from INSA Toulouse in IT engineering. She started her career in AXA Group in the IT Department, as engineer, manager and internal consultant, then moving to AXA France services to define and implement the IT sourcing strategy.
Afterwards, she joined Generali France to support legal mergers and reorganizations within the company. She pursued her career in HR as Head of HRBP and then Head of Career and Management Development. For the last eight years she has been Head of Organization and Transformation, leading strategic projects of operational and business model transformation, reorganizations and HR transformation.
Group Chief Financial Officer
Philippe Gervais is appointed Group CFO, reporting to Group General Manager Jean Yves Le Berre, following a two-year tenure as President of the Travel Insurance Business and General Manager of Europ Assistance’s US companies, Generali Global Assistance (“GGA”). Prior to his tenure at GGA, Philippe was with Europ Assistance for 15 years including serving as CEO of the Tele-Assistance Product Line as well as CEO of Europ Assistance Belgium. He began his career in consulting and private equity before joining Europ Assistance in 2003. Philippe will be replacing Samir Lahlou as Europ Assistance Group’s Chief Financial Officer with Samir becoming CFO of Europ Assistance SA, the primary insurance entity of the Group.
Chief Executive Officer North America
Chris Carnicelli is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Generali Global Assistance
North America and a Member of the Executive Committee of the Europ Assistance Group.
Chris has served in several executive leadership roles in the Generali Group since 1996 including General Counsel of Generali US Branch in New York from 1996 – 1999, Chairman and CEO of Generali US Branch from 1999 – 2003, Chairman and CEO of Generali UK Branch in London from 2003 – 2009, and Chairman and CEO of Generali USA Life Reassurance from 2009 – 2013.
Chris is also extremely active in the business and charitable community, serving as a Board member of several associations including the US Travel Insurance Association (Head of Communications Committee), Insurance Institute Charitable Foundation (IICF), UNICEF New York Board and Pace Elizabeth Haub School of Law Advisory Board.
Group General Counsel
Andrea Rodo is General Counsel of Global Business Activities at Generali and General Counsel of Generali Care Hub and Europ Assistance Group since October 2023.
Andrea joined Generali in 2014 coming from previous experiences in various international law firms where he used to practice M&A and finance law. As first role in Generali, Andrea was a legal counsel in the Group Strategic Legal affairs team, the legal team in charge of handling material M&A, finance and strategic transactions at Generali group level.
In 2017, he was appointed as Head of the Group Strategic Legal affairs team. In February 2023 Andrea was appointed as General Counsel of Global Business Activities, monitoring and coordinating legal operations of Generali Care, GC&C and Generali Arte, in October 2023 – as General Counsel of Generali Care Hub and Europ Assistance Group.
Chief Executive Officer Italy
Fabio has held various positions within Europ Assistance and Generali, including Chief Agents & Brokers Management Officer at Europ Assistance Italia, and Head of Commercial Planning at Generali Italia (2013-2015).
Before joining Generali, he held the position of Head of Agent Networks at Alleanza Toro from 2010 to 2013, Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company from 2004 to 2016, and ICT Consultant at Pride Group from 2002 to 2004.Fabio holds an undergraduate degree in Information Technology and a postgraduate degree in Information Systems Engineering from the Politecnico di Milano.
Chief Executive Officer France
Nicolas Sinz began his career in 1993 as a financial analyst for Banque Paribas in France and in Asia before joining Lafarge in 1996 as financial controller. He then joined AXA in 1998, where he held various senior management positions, initially within the Group head office in the areas of strategy, mergers and acquisitions and IT governance, then for AXA France as deputy director of Internal Audit. In 2006, Nicolas Sinz became General Secretary of AXA Assistance France, then Deputy Chief Executive Officer in 2010 before being appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AXA Assistance France in 2014. More recently, Nicolas was also leading AXA Partners France as well as the Home business line of AXA Partners worldwide.
Nicolas Sinz is a graduate of the ESSEC Business School. He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and President of GIE SNSA, the entity created by the French National Union of Assistance Companies to build shared business assets.
Chief Executive Officer of Travel Insurance and Assistance
Prior to joining Europ Assistance, Virginie Babinet, a graduate of Ecole Centrale de Lyon, spent 25 years in AXA. After 12 years in different positions in local finance departments or at the holding level, she took in 2006 the lead on the Flyer Program, a transformation of the organization, process, and tools of the AXA Finance function in Europe. In 2013, she joined AXA Belgium to lead the business support functions and notably manage the transformation of the culture and associated impact on the building (New Way of Working). Since 2016, she has overseen Group claims standards, strategy and transformation encompassing the launch of the claims data strategy.
As CEO of Travel Insurance and Assistance, today Virginie Babinet is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the company’s strategy in the travel insurance and assistance market.
Group Chief Communication, Marketing, Brand and Sustainability Officer
Cécile is joining Europ Assistance after 5 years as Chief Brand Marketing and Communications Officer of Mazars group, where she has led a major brand and marketing transformation in nearly 100 countries. Her main achievements in this international company have been the design and roll out of a new brand strategy and global reputation building programme and to establish state-of-the-art marketing and communication across the group. In addition to her core role, Cécile was appointed in 2021 Global Diversity & Inclusion Leader, to develop and drive a group-wide D&I program. Before Mazars, Cecile spent 12 years at McKinsey & Company driving brand, marketing and communications excellence globally and leading major global initiatives supporting the evolution of McKinsey’s brand positioning and services. Cécile joined McKinsey France in 2007 as Communication Director where she managed external reputation as well as internal and client communication during four years before taking a global role. In addition, Cécile teaches at HEC Paris two courses: “D&I Management and inclusive leadership” and “Marketing and brand management in a digital and sustainable world”. She is the author of flagship publications in the field of D&I, including most recently: “Myths and barriers preventing the progression of women”, Mazars, 2022; “Women Matter: Time to accelerate – 10 years of insights from McKinsey research”, McKinsey, 2017.
Group Chief Operating Officer
Franck is in charge to design and deploy a new full transformation program, encompassing operations, IT, Digital, QoS and Employee engagement. He is also directly responsible of digitalization and Quality of Service at Group level.
He is econometrician and statistician by training. After starting his career in an IT services company, Franck joined General Electric as statistician in Paris. Over his 7 years in GE Capital, Franck went through different positions, living in Leeds, London, Copenhagen, and Paris. His last role in GE was to drive the datacenter mutualization of GE as European Black Belt Lean Six Sigma.
After graduating from INSEAD, Franck joined McKinsey for 7 years as part of the Business Technology Office, in charge of digitization and turn-around programs across Europe, Middle East and Africa.
In 2015, Franck joined Allianz in Singapore, as CTO for Asia Pacific region, then deputy head of APAC branches of Allianz Technology. After 7 years in Asia, Franck returned to Europe and joined Europ Assistance as Group Chief Operating Officer.
Group Chief Information Officer
Fabien began his career in 1998 as co-founder of an IT startup in Philadelphia, facilitating the usage of data on the internet. After a short experience at INSEE, he joined Crédit Lyonnais Asset Management in 2001 and held several positions in IT, from project management to his promotion as deputy CIO. With the creation of Amundi in 2010, he was appointed for 5 years Global Head of Middle-Office and Client Reporting, and then spent 2 years in charge of strategic projects for international entities, especially post-merger integrations. From 2017 to 2022, he acted as CIO in CACEIS (subsidiary of Credit Agricole) to support the significant business growth.
Fabien is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique (Paris) and has an engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications (Paris).
